Perform compliance audits for new/or existing group clients, including:
Review of plan document and summary plan description (SPD) Review of required federal notices Review of group client's HR policies and procedures
Preparation of plan document and/or SPD, including amendments
Preparation of Form 5500 return/report in signature-ready package (plans with 100 or more participants)
Preparation of summary annual report (SAR) for distribution to employees (plans with 100 or more employees)
Provide required federal notices, including:
HIPAA pre-existing conditions limitation notice HIPAA special enrollment rights notice Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act notice Newborns and Mothers Health Protection Act notice Mental Health Parity Act notice Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act notice (GLBA) Cal-GLBA privacy notice HIPAA initial privacy notice FMLA initial notice (companies with over 50 or more employees)
Monitor state/federal legislative and regulatory issues, publish periodic newsletters to group clients and employee-friendly bulletins
Provide group clients with templates and sample forms, such as:
HIPAA business associates agreement HIPAA confidentiality agreement COBRA general (initial) notice Cal-COBRA general notice
Provide group clients with "compliance help desk" responding to inquiries regarding various compliance questions and issues
Provide summary material modification (SMM) and summary material reduction (SMR) for client's distribution to employees
Provide training for client's staff, including:
HIPAA privacy and security General administration guidelines Carrier specific administration guidelines Online administration and carrier website demos Conduct webinars on various subjects for multi-location group clients
Provide checklists to group clients, including:
Employee new hire checklist Employee termination checklist
